Andy Diggle
Andy Diggle is a British writer known for his work on high-profile titles such as Judge Dredd, Hellblazer, and Swamp Thing. He is also a former editor of 2000 AD. Diggle penned a mature re-imagining of The Losers for DC’s Vertigo line, as well as Marvel’s Punisher: Silent Night one-shot, Thunderbolts, and Daredevil. He and artist Davide Gianfelice gave a modern spin to classic Marvel gunslingers in Six Guns.
Warren Ellis emerged from the U.K. comics scene to make his mark at Marvel in the early ‘90s with the edgy series Hellstorm and the limited series Druid, followed by extended runs on Excalibur and Doom 2099. After gaining prominence with Wildstorm’s Stormwatch, Transmetropolitan, The Authority, and Planetary, Ellis returned to Marvel to write Ultimate Fantastic Four, the Ultimate Galactus Trilogy, Iron Man, and more. His Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. was both critically acclaimed and a cult favorite. Ellis also revived the 1980s New Universe in newuniversal, took over Astonishing X-Men, and wrote what is considered a definitive story of Iron Man in “Extremis.” He also offered a memorable take on Moon Knight. His Wildstorm miniseries Red was adapted into a successful film. In prose, Ellis authored Crooked Little Vein and the New York Times best-selling novel Gun Machine.
Mike Deodato Jr., already an established artist in Brazil, made his U.S. comics debut in 1994, illustrating DC’s Wonder Woman. For Marvel, he has drawn series including Avengers, Elektra, Spider-Man, and Incredible Hulk. After honing his distinctive style on the creator-owned Jade Warriors, he returned to Marvel for another run on Incredible Hulk and a stint on J. Michael Straczynski’s Amazing Spider-Man. Deodato has had multiple collaborations with various writers on Avengers-related titles and showcased his talent on the event series Original Sin. He joined writer Jeff Lemire to explore the villain Thanos in Thanos.
