Andrea Mutti
Andrea Mutti began his career illustrating the superhero comic ‘DNAction’ for Xenia Edizioni. He then illustrated horror comics for Fenix before moving to Star Comics, where he drew stories for ‘Lazarus Ledd’ and some episodes of ‘Hammer’. Since then, he has worked with DC/Vertigo, Marvel, Mad Cave Studios, and IDW.
Born in Naples in 1961, he founded the first Sci-Fi club in the Umbria region, “Uscita di Sicurezza,” in 1980, along with a related fanzine that concluded in 1991. In 1994, he participated in the DNAction comics project for Xenia Editrice. In 2002, he joined the staff of Delos publishing house, where he currently serves as deputy editor of the Delos Fantascienza magazine. He is a member of the multiplex writer Pelagio D’Afro and the authors’ collective Carboneria Letteraria, with whom he has written short stories and novels in the weird, sci-fi, and noir genres. In 2024, his story “Game of Mirrors” was selected for the Climate Fiction anthology “Vento dal Nulla,” which won the Italcon award for best anthology of the year. Over the years, he has also worked as a gynecologist.
Valerio Alloro
Valerio Alloro is an Italian colorist and illustrator who has worked with Dark Horse Comics on titles such as Ham-Let, Hotel Rem, Top Secret Service, and Small Town Spirits. For the same publisher, in collaboration with Fantasy Flight Games, he provided colors for Arkham Horror: The Terror at the End of Time (issues 1–4). He later joined Storm King Comics, contributing to works including Civilians, Tales of Science Fiction Vol. 9, Long Haul, and Dead Flowers. He also worked on the final graphic novel of the animated series Final Space and contributed as a colorist to Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories (#7 and Vol. 2: Scum and Villainy).
Born in Turin in 1968, he has always been a curious and avid reader of comics and sci-fi novels. In 2014 and 2016, he wrote a collection of short stories and two novels, while gaining experience writing for comics and music webzines. In 2020, he attended lettering courses at the International Comics Schools in Florence and Turin. In 2021, he joined the editorial staff of Kleiner Flug publishing house and collaborated with studios like Symmaceo and Studio RAM, and publishers like Leviathan Labs, Editoriale Cosmo, and Edizioni BD, lettering licensed comics from Titan Comics (Doctor Who), DC Comics (Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Justice League, Harley Quinn), Marvel Comics (Carnage Red, White and Blood), and many webtoons from Korea. In December 2020, he received an invitation from Andrea Mutti to letter a special project, which is presented here.
