A.L. McCann is a Melbourne-based academic and writer. He holds an MA from Melbourne Uni and a PhD from Cornell Uni, New York; is the recipient of numerous academic awards and fellowships; and has published books on cultural politics and literature and papers and articles on subjects as diverse as surburbia, history, Patrick White and Marcus Clarke. He currently lectures in the English Department of Melbourne University and lives in Victoria.
