Critics Review
Praise for Song of the Hell Witch:“A gripping romantasy featuring women empowered by rage, magic, and inspiring courage in an oppressive society. Vibrant with action and romance, this wonderfully fierce, impactful debut is perfect for fans of Hannah Witten.”—India Holton, USA Today bestselling author of The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels “Hits like a harpy screech of desperation and determination, full of adventure, heart, and the grim but affirming power of survival.”—Davinia Evans, author of Notorious Sorcerer“Song of the Hell Witch is a spellbinding novel packed full of female rage that you can sink your claws into. Hartley has expertly crafted a cast of complex characters who take you on a journey of self discovery and encompass the very best and worst of womanhood. The epitome of the phrase ‘They didn’t burn witches, they burned women’ in a book. Spectacular.”—Hazel McBride, author of A Fate Forged in Fire
About The Author
Taylor Hartley
Taylor Hartley graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a minor in creative writing. Inspired largely by Tamora Pierce and Madeleine L’Engle, they’ve been writing stories since before they could speak (or so they’ve been told). When they’re not reading or writing, Taylor can be found in a high school classroom but, most preferably, rewatching Interview with the Vampire, working out their rage on the rowing machine, or drinking a cup of coffee and cuddling with her two chunky cats. An eternal lover of the em dash and the Oxford comma, Taylor lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with their partner Aaron, who also teaches English.
