About The Author

Risa Dickens

Amy Torok and Risa Dickens started the Missing Witches podcast in September 2018 and published their first coauthored work, Missing Witches, in 2021. Both have a background in creative community-building and ran two different, interdisciplinary monthly arts performance showcases for years in the same town before meeting, forming their coven, and beginning the podcast.

Risa has a BA in literature and an MA in media studies, where she wrote about the communications history and impact of open source. For two decades, she has made magic and organized interdisciplinary community events, including advocating for a Universal Basic Income. She lives in a cabin on a lake in the woods north of Montreal with her husband Marc and daughter May Marigold.

Amy Torok is a Witch, teacher, counterculture enthusiast, musician, and visual artist/designer with a BA in English literature and a postgraduate diploma in journalism. She can be found atop a forest ravine in Quebec, with dirt under her fingernails and a song in her head at all times.
