About The Author
NisiOisiN
NISIOISIN is one of Japan’s most successful authors. Born in 1981, he left Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto to pursue a career in story-telling. Initially aiming to be a comic artist, he shifted his focus to writing. He won the 23rd Mephisto Prize for Kubikiri Cycle, recognizing his talents as a mystery writer at age 20. Since his debut in 2002, he has written over 50 novels and numerous comics. Nishio’s works often explore themes of youth within familiar genres, blending mystery, comedy, and elements of romance and the supernatural. A modern author, he sometimes experiments with the Japanese language. Many of his works have been adapted into animated television series and films, with his best known works including the Monogatari series and Katanagatari.
