Jonathan Faiers
Jonathan Faiers is Professor of Fashion Thinking at the University of Southampton, U.K. His research explores the intersection of popular culture, fashion, and textiles.
He is the author of:
- Dressing Dangerously: Dysfunctional Fashion in Film (2013)
- Fur: A Sensitive History (2020)
- Tartan (2008)
Tartan served as the conceptual framework for his role as consultant curator for the exhibition “Tartan” at V&A Dundee (2023). Faiers also co-curated “The Lore of Loverboy” (2024) at Somerset House, London, which celebrated the career of fashion designer Charles Jeffrey.
His background as a designer and his subsequent career in the visual arts underpin his interdisciplinary approach to teaching, writing, and curation.
