Gabourey Sidibe is an award-winning actress who shot to fame when she took the title role of Precious, based on the novel Push by Sapphire. She has since starred in American Horror Story and Empire and has recently made her directorial debut with the short film The Tale of Four. She was born in Brooklyn and raised in Harlem, New York.
