Nat Amoore

Nat Amoore is a Sydney-based children’s author.

Her debut novel, Secrets of a Schoolyard Millionaire (2019), was a great success, becoming Dymocks and QBD’s ‘Kids Book Of The Month’ and Australia’s #1 bestselling debut Aussie children’s fiction in 2019. It has been translated into UK, US, Italian, Chinese, Estonian, and Romanian editions.

The Power of Positive Pranking (2020) was shortlisted for the 2021 Readings Children’s Book Prize and REAL Children’s Choice Book Awards, and won the Environment Award for Children’s Literature. The Right Way to Rock (2021), the final book in her trilogy about the kids of Watterson Primary, was a CBCA Notable.

In 2021, Nat wrote the 5-part fiction podcast series Project ARI for Nova Entertainment and the Australian Government as part of the #StopItAtTheStart campaign. Project ARI won Best Branded Podcast at the 2021 Australian Podcast Awards and received an ACRA in 2022.

We Run Tomorrow (2022), co-written with Mike Barry, was another CBCA Notable.

The first three books in Nat’s junior fiction Shower Land series, illustrated by James Hart, were published in 2024. Her laugh-out-loud picture book I Don’t Need A Little Brother, illustrated by Nathaniel Eckstrom, is set for publication in 2025.

James Hart

James Hart grew up loving comics, cartoons, and drawing, turning this passion into a full-time illustration career. He has worked on toy designs, animations, and books for clients and publishers worldwide.

His projects include:

• The award-winning You Choose series
• The CBCA-notable Mr Bambuckle’s Remarkables series
• The Mysterious World of Cosentino series
• The D-Bot Squad adventure series
• Numerous titles with author Adam Wallace, including the co-created Cowboy and Birdbrain series.

James also illustrated the 2018 Premiers’ Reading Challenge posters in Victoria. He has since written and illustrated the graphic novel series, Super Geeks.

When not drawing, James is a dad and husband who enjoys movies, cartoons, music, gardening, reading, and writing.
