Guillaume “Run” Renard is an accomplished animator, director, and writer. His work takes a modern approach to animation, focusing on social outcasts and incorporating contemporary themes such as terrorism, the quest for identity, ecological issues, and the temptation of radicalization among young people.
Renard’s exploration of the Mutafukaz universe began with his animated short, Mutafukaz: Operation Blackhead (2003), which was selected for Sundance. His debut feature film, Mutafukaz (2017), co-directed with Nishimi Shojiro, premiered at the Annecy International Animation Festival and was later released on Netflix in the United States under the title MFKZ.
