About the Authors
William Magee holds a PhD in Buddhist Studies from the University of Virginia. For the past twelve years, he has taught at the University of Virginia’s renowned summer Tibetan language program. Magee currently teaches at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.
Elizabeth S. Napper is an independent scholar specializing in the translation and editing of Tibetan Buddhist works. She resides in India.
Jeffrey Hopkins, PhD, served for a decade as the interpreter for the Dalai Lama. A distinguished Buddhist scholar and the author of more than thirty-five books, he is Professor Emeritus at the University of Virginia, where he established the largest academic program in Tibetan Buddhist studies in the Western world.
