About The Author

Jennifer Ward

Jennifer spent her childhood exploring nature and writing stories about her observations, both for herself and her parents. As an adult, she continued to immerse herself in nature and became a teacher before dedicating herself to writing children’s books full time. She is the author of several popular children’s books, and Forest Bright, Forest Night is her first book with Dawn Publications.

Jamichael Henterly, originally an Army paratrooper, infantry medic, firefighter, and Forest Service fire lookout, never intended to become a book illustrator. Although he aspired to be a scientist, his love for drawing led him to a career in illustration. Jamichael emphasizes the importance of research in his work, believing that drawing like an artist enhances scientific observation, and vice versa. He aims to capture the beauty and wonder of nature that inspires him in his illustrations. He resides along a wild river near Deming, Washington.
