Oku Hiroya
Hiroya Oku
Hiroya Oku is a manga artist renowned for his works Gantz, Zero One, and HEN, all of which were serialized in Young Jump magazine. His manga are characterized by their explicit violence, gore, and mature themes.
Oku’s talent was recognized early when he won the second prize in the Youth Manga Awards in 1988 under the pen name Yahiro Kuon. He also contributed to the gaming world by designing a character named “Shura” for Bandai Namco’s fighting game Soulcalibur IV, released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
