What They're Saying
Critics Review
Praise for I Will Scream to the World“Jaha is truly an authentic woman telling her deeply moving story that goes beyond being a survivor and global activist. She also reminds us what it is to be human. Jaha epitomizes a Great Dame.” —Sharon Kelly Hake, Founder and President of Great Dames“I found Jaha’s story deeply moving. She has dedicated her life to fighting against FGM, child marriage, and financial inequity on a global scale. A must read for all men and women who want to elevate women.” —Betty Hines, founder, Women Elevating Women (W.E.W.)“This memoir is proof that women not only survive but thrive under horrendous circumstances. I was particularly impressed that as a global women’s rights activist, Jaha passionately promotes financial equity because she understands that money is power and without power, women will not reach full potential for themselves and the world.” —Dr. Andrea Wagner, founder, Herizon Funding“Because of her work to ban FGM, Dukureh became a L’Oreal international global brand ambassador, one of Time magazine’s 2016 100 most influential people in the world, a nominee for a Nobel Peace Prize, and the subject of the 2017 documentary Jaha’s Promise. It’s inspiring that Dukureh’s work led to awareness of FGM in the U.S. and to it being banned in The Gambia.” —Booklist“I Will Scream to the World by Jaha Marie Dukureh is a powerful memoir detailing Jaha’s journey from a survivor of female genital mutilation (FGM) and forced child marriage, to a globally recognised activist and leader.” —Clare Kelly, Virgin Radio journalist
