A.M. Luzzader is an award-winning children’s author specializing in chapter books and middle-grade novels for preteens. Her works include the magical coming-of-age fantasy adventure series, A Mermaid in Middle Grade (ages 8-12), the children’s mystery adventure series, Hannah Saves the World, and Arthur Blackwood’s Scary Stories for Kids Who Like Scary Stories, a collection of short horror tales.
Luzzader’s passion for writing stories for children began in her own childhood. By fourth grade, she was crafting short stories, and by fifth grade, she was typing them up on a garage sale typewriter, adding her own illustrations in sixth grade. Now a full-time author, she was recognized as Writer of the Year by the League of Utah Writers in 2019-2020.
Inspired by her own children, a ten-year-old and a thirteen-year-old, Luzzader lives with her husband and family in northern Utah. She is a devoted cat person and an avid reader.
