Erik Larsen

Erik Larsen is a legendary comics creator known for his work on Amazing Spider-Man, where he chronicled Spider-Man’s cosmic-powered and powerless phases. He has also contributed to Marvel titles such as Defenders, Fantastic Four, Nova, and Wolverine. At DC, Larsen has illustrated Doom Patrol, Outsiders, and Teen Titans. His most renowned work is Savage Dragon, which he created and published through Image Comics, a company he co-founded and served as publisher for four years.

Warren Ellis

Hailing from the U.K. comics scene, Warren Ellis made his mark at Marvel with series like Hellstorm and Druid, followed by acclaimed runs on Excalibur and Doom 2099. He gained further recognition at Wildstorm for his work on Stormwatch, Transmetropolitan, The Authority, and Planetary. Ellis returned to Marvel to write Ultimate Fantastic Four, the Ultimate Galactus Trilogy, and Iron Man. His series Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. was a critical success. He also revived the New Universe with newuniversal, penned Thunderbolts, took over Astonishing X-Men, and wrote the definitive Iron Man story “Extremis.” Ellis also offered a memorable take on Moon Knight. His Wildstorm miniseries Red was adapted into a successful film. In prose, Ellis is the author of Crooked Little Vein and the New York Times best-selling novel Gun Machine.

Leinil Francis Yu

A copy of How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way ignited Leinil Francis Yu’s passion for comics at age 11. Under the tutelage of Whilce Portacio, he began his mainstream career in 1997, drawing Wolverine. Yu has since worked on titles like Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, Superman: Birthright, and Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk. After contributing to New Avengers, he and writer Brian Michael Bendis collaborated on the event series Secret Invasion. Yu has also worked on Avengers & X-Men: Axis, IVX, and Star Wars.

Denys Cowan

Denys Cowan, a co-founder of Milestone Media, began his comics career with backup features like “White Tiger” in Spectacular Spider-Man and “Firestorm” in DC’s Flash. At Marvel, he illustrated Power Man and Iron Fist, a Black Panther miniseries, and Moon Knight: Divided We Fall. Returning to DC, he focused on urban heroes such as Green Arrow, Question, and Steel, and penciled miniseries including Batman: The Ultimate Evil. In television, Cowan produced episodes of Static Shock and The Boondocks, later becoming senior vice president of animation for Black Entertainment Television.
