Andy Diggle
Andy Diggle
Andy Diggle is a British writer known for his work on high-profile titles such as Judge Dredd, Hellblazer, and Swamp Thing. He is also a former editor of 2000 AD. Diggle penned a mature re-imagining of The Losers for DC’s Vertigo line, as well as the Punisher: Silent Night one-shot, Thunderbolts, and Daredevil for Marvel. He collaborated with artist Davide Gianfelice on Six Guns, a modern take on classic Marvel gunslingers.
Warren Ellis
Emerging from the U.K. comics scene, Warren Ellis began his Marvel career in the early ‘90s with the edgy series Hellstorm and the limited series Druid. He is also remembered for his extended runs on Excalibur and Doom 2099. Ellis made a name for himself with Wildstorm titles like Stormwatch, Transmetropolitan, The Authority, and Planetary. He later returned to Marvel to write Ultimate Fantastic Four, the Ultimate Galactus Trilogy, and Iron Man. His Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. was both a critical success and a cult favorite. Ellis revived the 1980s New Universe in newuniversal and wrote Thunderbolts. He took over Astonishing X-Men after Joss Whedon and John Cassaday’s departure and penned Iron Man’s “Extremis,” widely considered a definitive story of the Armored Avenger. He also offered a memorable new take on Moon Knight. His Wildstorm miniseries Red was adapted into a successful film in 2010. Ellis also ventured into prose fiction with Crooked Little Vein and his New York Times best-selling novel Gun Machine.
Mike Deodato Jr.
Mike Deodato Jr. was an established illustrator in Brazil before breaking into American comics in 1994 with DC’s Wonder Woman. For Marvel, he has illustrated series including Avengers, Elektra, Spider-Man, and Incredible Hulk. After developing his unique style on the creator-owned Jade Warriors, he returned to Marvel for another stint on Incredible Hulk with writer Bruce Jones and worked on J. Michael Straczynski’s Amazing Spider-Man. Deodato has frequently collaborated on various Avengers titles with writers such as Brian Michael Bendis, Ed Brubaker, and Jonathan Hickman, and showcased his talent on the event book Original Sin. He joined writer Jeff Lemire to explore one of Marvel’s iconic villains in Thanos.
