Kieron Gillen
Kieron Gillen is an award-winning critic and journalist who previously wrote for publications such as PC Gamer, The Guardian, Rock, Paper, Shotgun, and WIRED before focusing on comics. His prior comic credits include the acclaimed Phonogram with frequent collaborator Jamie McKelvie, as well as Thor, S.W.O.R.D., and Generation Hope. Gillen relaunched two established Marvel series, Uncanny X-Men and Journey into Mystery, before reuniting with McKelvie for a celebrated run on Young Avengers. He then took on Iron Man for Marvel NOW! and later penned Darth Vader, introducing the character of Doctor Aphra, whose adventures he continues in her own series.
Salvador Larroca, a Spanish artist, began his career in comics with the Marvel UK imprint, leading to a regular assignment on Ghost Rider. He later worked on Fantastic Four with writer Chris Claremont. From 2000 to 2006, Larroca illustrated Marvel’s mutants in Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, and X-Treme X-Men. After a tenure on Amazing Spider-Man, Larroca delivered a lengthy run on Invincible Iron Man and contributed to the original graphic novel X-Men: No More Humans. Upon the return of Star Wars to Marvel, Larroca drew Darth Vader and subsequently the flagship Star Wars title.
Leinil Francis Yu’s interest in comics was ignited at age 11 by a copy of How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way. Under the mentorship of Whilce Portacio, he landed his first mainstream comic work on Wolverine in 1997. Following a successful run, Yu contributed to titles such as Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, Superman: Birthright, and Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk. After a significant period on New Avengers, he and writer Brian Michael Bendis collaborated on the groundbreaking Secret Invasion. Yu has since worked on event comics like Avengers & X-Men: Axis and IVX, as well as major titles including Star Wars.
