Peter David

Peter David is a highly prolific and versatile writer, known for his record-breaking, fan-favorite run on Incredible Hulk. His critically acclaimed association with X-Factor began in the early 1990s and resumed in 2005. David’s other Marvel work includes Captain Marvel, multiple lengthy stints on Spider-Man 2099, Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider, and the hit limited series Symbiote Spider-Man.

He is also a novelist and screenwriter, with credits including numerous Star Trek tie-ins, original novels such as Sir Apropos of Nothing, Howling Mad, and Knight Life, the films Trancers 4 and Trancers 5, and episodes of Babylon 5 and Crusade. David also co-created the TV show Space Cases.

Jim Starlin

Jim Starlin is celebrated for introducing Thanos, Shang-Chi, and many other memorable characters. After seemingly killing Adam Warlock and Thanos in an early Marvel cosmic arc, for which he won two Eagle Awards, Starlin wrote Marvel’s first graphic novel, The Death of Captain Marvel.

Returning to Marvel to write Silver Surfer, he resurrected Adam Warlock and Thanos. These characters were central to a vast array of miniseries he wrote and/or penciled, including Infinity Gauntlet, Infinity War, Infinity Crusade, Infinity Abyss, and the monthly titles Warlock and the Infinity Watch and Thanos. Starlin continued Thanos’s saga in a recent series of original graphic novels.

Paul Jenkins

Paul Jenkins, an Eisner Award winner for his work on Inhumans, is known for revealing Wolverine’s untold history in Origin and introducing the Marvel Universe’s “forgotten” hero, Sentry. In addition to his comics work on series like Spectacular Spider-Man, Incredible Hulk, and Civil War: Front Line, he is a prolific video game writer, including Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. Jenkins returned to DC Comics in 2011, writing the New 52 titles Batman: The Dark Knight and Stormwatch.

Dale Keown

Dale Keown’s initial work for Marvel was on Nth Man, the Ultimate Ninja. However, he earned his reputation as a dynamic stylist on Incredible Hulk. Paired with writer Peter David, Keown’s work on the title reached new heights of popularity and acclaim. After a three-year run, Keown moved to Image Comics, where he created the comic and character Pitt. He has since contributed art to The Darkness and reunited with Peter David for the one-shot Hulk: The End.

Sean Chen

Sean Chen gained recognition for his artwork on titles such as X-O Manowar, Bloodshot, and Harbinger for Valiant Comics. At Marvel, he illustrated a multi-year run on Kurt Busiek’s Iron Man, as well as Wolverine, Elektra, and X-Men: The End. Chen’s later credits include Nova, Mighty Avengers, and Avengers Academy.

Alan Davis

British-born artist Alan Davis launched his career with Marvel UK. He continued his collaboration that made Captain Britain a beloved character and co-created D.R. and Quinch. Davis broke into U.S. comics with runs on Batman, The Outsiders, and Detective Comics.

Hired by Marvel U.S. in 1986, Davis launched Excalibur with Chris Claremont, which quickly became a unique and humorous mutant title. When Davis took over writing duties, he carried over plot threads from his Captain Britain work. He also created the superhero family ClanDestine and wrote and drew the DC miniseries JLA: The Nail. After a lengthy arc writing and drawing X-Men, Davis worked on the miniseries Killraven, Fantastic Four: The End, and a ClanDestine revival. He has also illustrated Brian Michael Bendis’s Avengers Prime and contributed to X-Men: Schism, later helping relaunch Wolverine with writer Paul Cornell.
