Micah Johnson
Micah Johnson is a former Major League Baseball player and the creator of the phenomenon that is Aku.
Inspired by a young boy’s question about whether astronauts could be Black, Johnson created Aku, a 3D animated character featuring a boy in an oversized astronaut helmet. This artistic endeavor led to his first book, Aku: Journey to Ibra, which tells Aku’s origin story. Johnson is also the creator of a fine art piece that was recognized as the “2020 NFT of the Year.”
He currently resides in Maine with his wife and daughter.
