Dean Lomax
Dr Dean Lomax is an internationally recognised, multi-award-winning palaeontologist, author, and TV presenter. His passion for palaeontology began with a childhood fascination for dinosaurs. Dean’s journey into the field was unconventional; lacking university grades and finances, he sold his possessions at age 18 to fund a trip to excavate dinosaurs in America. He then immersed himself in research, writing scientific papers and books. Despite not completing an undergraduate degree, he pursued and obtained a Master’s and later a PhD. Today, Dr Lomax is considered a leading authority on ichthyosaurs, giant marine reptiles of the Mesozoic Era. He leads global excavations, unearthing dinosaurs and ancient reptiles, has discovered and named 10 new species, and is a published author.
