Ernesto “Che” Guevara
Born into a middle-class family in Argentina in 1928, Ernesto “Che” Guevara trained as a doctor. His experiences witnessing poverty and hunger across South America radicalized him.
Guevara played a pivotal role in the Cuban Revolution and subsequently served in Fidel Castro’s government. He later traveled to the Congo to support a rebellion there. His final revolutionary efforts took him to Bolivia, where he led a small, dedicated group. He was captured and executed by Bolivian and US military forces in 1967.
