Robert McCloskey
Robert McCloskey (1914-2003) was a celebrated author and illustrator renowned for his enduring children’s books. He spent his formative years in Hamilton, Ohio, before living in Boston and New York, eventually settling in Maine, where he raised his two daughters.
McCloskey holds the distinction of being the first two-time Caldecott Medal winner, receiving the prestigious award for:
