This snake with brown stripes and a black head is painted in realistic colors and has a slithery pink tongue.
About the Black-Headed Python: Found in the forests and grasslands of northern Australia, the black-headed python gets its name from its distinct black head and red-brown body. Generally it averages around 4 feet in length, but can reach larger sizes. During the hottest part of the year, it is active at night. Other snakes, including venomous species, and lizards make up most of its diet. Interestingly enough, this species seems immune to the venom of other snakes.
