About the Author

Dr Eileen Doyle has had an extensive career in large corporations that has spanned more than three decades. She has a PhD in Mathematics and Statistics and started her career in a technical role in industry, but quickly moved to management.

In 1993 she was Australia s first Fulbright Scholar in Business Management where she completed an International General Management Program at Columbia University in New York and worked for Paine Webber Investment Bank.

She had an executive career in the steel, building materials, infrastructure and logistics industries and she is now a professional company director.

She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of their National Governance Committee. She is also a Fellow of the Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. She was Chairman of Port Waratah Coal Services and Deputy Chairman of CSIRO. Her present roles include Director, Oil Search Ltd, Boral Ltd, GPT Group and The Hunter Angels Trust.

She has also had a long history as a business angel and working with inventors and small businesses to introduce and grow their products. She is a Founding Fellow of the Australian Association of Angel Investors. She has combined her knowledge and discipline from large corporations with her experience with start-ups to write her book Call a Business Angel.
