Everyday Cheval travels along the river Drme from village to village, quiet and alone he enjoys the solitude of his rounds, daydreaming about a world full of wonder he can only imagine through postcards. After his wife, Philomne (Laetitia Casta) gives birth to their daughter, Alice, Cheval decides to build Alice a palace fit for a princess.
