Midsomer Murders: Complete Season 2

DEATHS SHADOW When Richard Bayly, a local property developer, is diagnosed with a brain tumour he feels the need to confess his sins to Reverend Stephen Wentworth before he dies. Later that night Richard is violently murdered in his own home. DCI Barnaby can't understand who would want to kill a dying man. However, he soon learns that Richard's redevelopment plans for the village were not seen as beneficial by everyone. When another murder is committed, Barnaby and Troy face a race against time to unearth the truth surrounding tragic events from the past to discover the perpetrator.

STRANGLERS WOOD When Carla Constanza - the face of Brazils leading cigarette brand for Monarch Tobacco - is found strangled in the infamous Stranglers Wood, DCI Barnaby and DS Troy not only find themselves investigating her murder, but three identical unsolved murders of innocent girls from eight years before. When Barnaby meets the other inhabitants of Midsomer Worthy he discovers more than one potential suspect - an ex-Detective Chief Inspector unhealthily obsessed with the original case; the creepy village landlord with a dark past and a sinister over-protective mother; the Managing Director of Monarch Tobacco, who stands to lose a lot of money and an au pair who knows more about Carlas death than she is letting on... As the murders mount up, Barnaby and Troy realise that time is running out.

BLOOD WILL OUT Idyllic village life is propelled into turmoil when two opposing traveller clans descend upon the inhabitants of Martyr Warren. DCI Barnaby and DS Troy are forced to investigate when local magistrate and principal adversary of the new vagrant population, Hector Bridges, is found shot dead at his house. As the majority of the village had been watching a chariot race between the rival clans at the time Hector was killed, there are a limited number of suspects. Or so it seems

BEYOND THE GRAVE When a portrait of Jonathan Lowrie, a wealthy royalist who was killed by a Roundhead musketeer, is slashed at the Aspern Tallow museum, Inspector Barnaby and Sergeant Troy are called in to investigate. A strange series of events follows the act of vandalism; the local art restorer is convinced that the picture resembles her recently departed husband, the church bells start ringing out in the middle of the night, a packing case in the museum catches fire and the body of Marcus Lowrie, a distant relative of the man in the portrait, is found beaten to death in his ancestors grave.
