About The Author
Zhong-Zhi Bai
Zhong-Zhi Bai is a full professor at the Academy of Mathematics and System Sciences at Chinese Academy of Sciences. His main research subjects are numerical linear and nonlinear algebra as well as parallel computations with applications. Dr. Bai is the editor of more than 15 top journals on numerical analysis and scientific computing. Since 2016, he has been named in the Web of Science Highly Cited Researchers (Clarivate Analytics) five times in a row. The Hermitian and skew-Hermitian splitting (HSS) iteration method and its convergence theory, which Dr. Bai established jointly with Gene H. Golub and Michael K. Ng in 2003, have been recognized as a milestone in matrix computations and as the most important scientific achievement in the last 20 years in the area of iterative methods for solving large sparse linear systems.
Jian-Yu Pan is a full professor at East China Normal University. He is the author of more than 20 academic papers in areas such as numerical algebra, numerical optimization, and scientific computing.
