Born in Bogotá, Colombia, to a Japanese father and Colombian mother, Yokoi Kenji Díaz spent the first ten years of his life in Latin America (Panama, Costa Rica, and Colombia) with his Colombian grandfather. He later moved with his parents to Yokohama, Japan, where for fourteen years he worked as a translator and guide for the growing Latin American community that migrated in the 1990s to work in prestigious companies.

After a powerful social experience in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Kenji deepened his social commitment and created a cultural exchange project between Latin America and Japan, aimed at promoting a mindset of discipline, hard work, and development among Latin Americans. He quickly became a leading motivational speaker, drawing from the strengths of both cultures to help audiences reflect on how to harness their talents to build a better society.

Today, hundreds of his ideas circulate on social media with millions of views. Schools, universities, companies, and government institutions regularly embrace Yokoi Kenji Díaz’s messages on discipline, integrity, life purpose, and passion.
