About The Author

Yianni Cartledge

The History Council of South Australia (HCSA), founded 2003, was formally launched in April 2004 as an independent body to bring together the many organisations and individuals either working on history in South Australia, or working on the history of South Australia.

Yianni Cartledge is a history PhD graduate and Greek Studies lecturer at Flinders University (Adelaide), researching early Greek migrants to the Anglosphere. He was secretary of the History Council of South Australia (HCSA) from 2020 to 2023 and acknowledges his supervisors Prof. Andrekos Varnava and Dr Evan Smith, and his colleagues on the past and present HCSA committees.

Bridget Jolly trained as a painter-printmaker. She studied and taught Western art and architectural history at Flinders and Adelaide universities (South Australia), and developed an eclectic interest in South Australian social history, particularly of Kangaroo Island. She tutors in English as Another Language to refugee women.
