What They're Saying

Critics Review

‘If you are serious about leaving a legacy for your school, you must ensure it is fit for the future. FutureSchool inspires school leaders to make the very hard and important decisions that are needed, though exploring already successful blueprints that can be adopted and adapted to create solid foundations, and build the schools our children deserve.’

Gwyn ap Hari, Founder and CEO of the XP Schools, United Kingdom

‘Forget Deschooling. Embrace Reschooling. FutureSchool is a thoroughly compelling and convincing account of the power of redesigned schools to transform learning - to build our capacity to create a thriving future for all. Read it. Be uplifted.’

Anthony Mackay AM, CEO and Board Co-Chair of the National Center on Education and the Economy, USA, and Co-Chair of Learning Creates, Australia

‘We tend to imagine school as buildings, but Valerie Hannon shows us the values and design principles that bring together the people, the spaces and the technology in new ways to educate learners for their future, rather than our past. What makes the book special are numerous case studies that reveal this future is already here, and that point us to ways how it can take root in our education systems.’

Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills and Special Advisor on Education Policy to the Secretary-General at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

‘If you want a school where students learn to care for themselves, others and the planet while preparing for an unpredictable future this book is for you. You will learn how schools across the world inspire and empower learners to contribute to face the challenges of our time and how this could be done in your very school.’

Professor Francois Taddei, UNESCO USPC Chair in Learning sciences and Founder and Chair of the Centre for Research and Interdisciplinarity, University of Paris
