Professor Tsan-Ming CHOI (Jason) is a distinguished management scientist, operations researcher, and systems engineer. He currently holds the position of Chair in Operations and Supply Chain Management and serves as the Director of the Centre for Supply Chain Research at the University of Liverpool Management School (ULMS).

His extensive academic contributions are reflected in numerous publications in leading journals across operations management, engineering management, logistics, and supply chain management. Professor Choi’s recent research has been supported by significant external funding from bodies such as the Research Grants Council (HK), University Grants Council (HK), M.O.E. (TW), and M.O.S.T. (TW).

He plays a vital role in the academic community, serving as:

• Senior Editor for Production and Operations Management and Decision Support Systems
• Department Editor for IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management

Furthermore, Professor Choi contributes to academic review processes as an external member of the engineering panel for the Research Grants Council (HK), where he is involved in reviewing, recommending, and monitoring research proposals and projects.

His dedication to editorial excellence has been recognized with two consecutive Best Associate Editor Awards from the IEEE SMC Society (USA) in 2013 and 2014. Over the past two decades, he has also served as an officer, executive committee member, secretary, and treasurer for various professional societies, including the Production and Operations Management Society (HK), IEEE SMC Society (HK), and IEEE TEM Society (HK).

Since 2020, Professor Choi has been consistently recognized among the top 20 most productive researchers globally in business and economics by p-ranking, appearing on various journal ranking lists. He is also acknowledged as a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate (Web of Science) and listed among the Top 2% scientists by Stanford University. In February 2023, he received the JOM Ambassador Paper Award 2023 for his significant contribution to the Journal of Operations Management.

Prior to joining ULMS, Professor Choi dedicated over two decades to teaching at esteemed institutions, including The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), and National Taiwan University (NTU). His academic achievements have been further recognized with honors such as being a Yushan Fellow Professor at NTU, a President’s Award Winning Professor at PolyU, and a distinguished alumnus of CUHK’s Faculty of Engineering.
