Troy Knight
Troy, known to his mates as ‘Norm’ or ‘TK’, was born in 1977. He grew up in Queensland, enjoying surfing, rugby league, and looking for mischief.
His adventurous spirit and inclination for risk-taking led him to the Townsville Defence Force Recruiting office in 1999. After being told Army Recruit training was bottlenecked, he was introduced to the RAAF Airfield Defence Guards. This pivotal moment set him on a path that would take him to Afghanistan, Iraq, and beyond, becoming one of Australia’s first Combat Controllers attached to the Australian Special Forces.
