After working as a reporter and section editor for the online edition of DER SPIEGEL and others, he became a full-time author. His thrillers and science fiction novels have won him various prizes and are bestsellers in Germany. He currently lives in Munich without any cats. Laura Caton was born in California and spent her childhood living across the United States and near Stuttgart, Germany. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013 with an MA in German Language and Literature, she moved to New York, where she worked for several years in international and nonprofit theater. In 2016, she was awarded the Gutekunst Prize for Emerging Translators. She currently lives in Pittsburgh.
