Systematic Security

Born in Afghanistan in 1976, Timur Qader, the youngest of three, left the country in 1978 due to the coup d’etat and Russian invasion. His father obtained a position with the United Nations, arranging for his family to join him on assignment in return for their relocation. For the next decade, the family lived in various countries, experiencing diverse cultures.

In 1985, Timur’s father was reassigned to New York, and the family moved to Westchester, New York. After graduating from Lakeland High School, Timur attended the University of Buffalo, earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Following college, he moved to Albany, New York, starting a career in telecommunications with Bell Atlantic, later Verizon. He obtained his MBA and MS in Information Security and married Vanessa Qader, with whom he has two sons, Xavier and Darian Qader.

Over a career spanning twenty-five years, Timur has served as a CISO in two positions and worked for the Center for Internet Security (CIS). He dedicates his time to family, exercise, and education. In 2022, Timur achieved his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which he considers a major accomplishment, and continues to practice as part of his fitness routine.
