Timothy D. Stark
Timothy D. Stark, Ph.D., P.E., BC.GE, is a professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. His expertise lies in geotechnical engineering, and he has received numerous awards for his dedication and efforts to the field including the ASCE Distinguished Member designation since 2024 and the 2023 South African Institution of Civil Engineering J. E. Jennings Award.
Abedalqader Idries, Ph.D., is a senior staff geotechnical engineer at Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, LLC. Abedalqader worked with co-author Timothy D. Stark on various research projects covering deep foundations, slope stability, geosynthetics, and more through which he has been awarded the ASTM Richard S. Ladd Standards Development Award.
