Drawing Perspective

This book is incredible. I highly recommend it. Easy to read with detailed, clear and simple guidance. The accompanying drawings and sketches are plentiful and clearly show what is being discussed. The author covers areas such as single-point perspective, multi-point perspective, varying perspective and other essential instruction for novice artists like myself such as placing shadows and reflections and people perspective. I have quite a collection of drawing and painting books and this is one of the best. I love drawing buildings but they have always seemed a ‘bit off’ but I know by following the rules in this book I will be able to achieve the outcomes I want with my art work

Zero-point, single-point and multi-point perspective are all covered alongside measurement, proportion, scale and varying perspective, with chapters devoted to specific subjects: people, animals, boats, shadows, reflections, skies and seas, inclined planes and curved perspective. The book concluded with chapters on how to overcome common mistakes and how to free-up your drawing style to draw perspective intuitively. Numerous exercises throughout the book encourage you to work through stages to practise what you have learnt.

This book is excellent as it explains perspective in fine detail. I am following the instructions in some of the chapters and learning so much.

Tim Fisher has been drawing and painting for as long as he can remember. He sketches regularly, which has helped him develop some unique insights and techniques for portraying a subject on paper. His successful line and wash paintings and pastels also have a strong emphasis on drawing.
