Hafdan is a 14 year old boy living in Denmark in 1000 AD. His father wants him to stay at home and learn how to carve wooden tools, but Hafdan is determined to become a brave and strong Viking raider, pillaging villages in England.

About the Author

Tim Collins' fiction for children has been translated into forty languages and won awards such as the Manchester Fiction City and The Kalbacher Klapperschlange. The Long-Lost Secret Diary of the World’s Worst Astronaut was chosen for the 2019 Summer Reading Challenge.Isobel Lundie is an illustrator and designer. She graduated from Kingston university with a first class honours in illustration and animation. Since graduating, Isobel has specialised in children’s publishing and has made books for The Salariya Book Company, Usborne, Random House, DK and The Good Book Company. She uses a wide variety of materials such as collage papers, pencil, ink and digital media. She likes creating detailed work with wacky characters that makes children laugh.
