About The Author
Thomas Paine
Thomas Paine was born in 1737 at Thetford, Norfolk in England, as the son of a Quaker. He immigrated to America in 1774, where he published works criticizing slavery and supporting American independence. He gained popularity but returned to England and became involved in the French Revolution. Afterward, he returned to America, where he died in 1802.
