Henri Matisse (French, 1869–1954) was one of the most acclaimed artists during the first half of the twentieth century. His experimentation with color, light, and shape led to a distinctive, groundbreaking style evident from his early works during the Fauve period through his late-career paper cutouts. This calendar features 12 of these bold, vivid works by Matisse, all from the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
