Cortney A fan of such comics as Barbie, Lenore, and Little Lulu, Cortney worked on revising the Disney Fairies scripts for an American audience for the Papercutz graphic novels. Her magical comics journey continues as the writer on the Melowy graphic novel series, where she believes the most powerful magic of all is Love, and many other projects.
Elisabetta Melaranci Elisabetta Melaranci is an artist for Disney Italia. She has drawn extensively for Principesse Disney (stories with ‘Cinderella’, ‘Pocahontas’, and ‘Esmeralda’) and Disney Fairies. She drew Kim Possible stories for Disney Channel Magazine, Finding Nemo for Mondo Disney, and contributed to W.I.T.C.H.. Together with Anna Merli and Claudio Sciarrone, she penciled the Monsters Inc. comic adaptation. Since 2018, she is active for Sergio Bonelli Editore, Mattel, Disney Pixar, Walt Disney Company Italia, and Penguin Random House, while working for IDEA Academy. She is a Disney illustrator, character designer, and cartoonist. After attending the Roman School of Comics (where she now teaches), she made her debut in the world of comics in 2005 as the designer of “Monster Allergy” (the series by Centomo, Artibani, Barbucci, and Canepa, published by Disney). She soon became a cartoonist, illustrator, and character designer for the youth sector of the Italian and international market (Rainbow, Piemme, Egmont, Glénat). Since 2013, she has worked as a cartoonist and illustrator for Disney editorial projects (including Frozen, Tangled, Oceania, etc.). Also for Disney, she created the character design and comic transposition of the TV series Violetta and Soy Luna, and as a character designer, created the world of Star Darlings (Disney). In 2015, she participated in the creation of the graphic novel Inside Out (Disney/Pixar).
Federica Salfo Italian comic book artist Federica Salfo was born in 1977 in Rome and began her career drawing comics for ONYX and Editing Communications. She was an artist for Disney Italia’s Cip & Ciop title, starring the classic characters Chip ‘n’ Dale, from 2005 to 2012. She has also worked on other Disney properties, such as W.I.T.C.H. and Cars. Besides Disney, her other credits include Tea’s Sisters, Joe Carrot, and Geronimo Stilton for PiEmme, artwork for Barbie Magazine for Studio Chiesa and MATTEL, Milly Merletti for De Agostini, and Holly-Hobbie for Editing Communications. Since 2013, Salfo has been the artist of Meilleures Ennemies, the French comic book adaptation of Alexa Young’s young adult novel series Frenemies, for Miss Jungle. Salfo also creates illustrations for school books by Mondadori and teaches Comic Art at the International School of Comics.
Rosa La Barbera Born in Sicily in 1978, Rosa La Barbera quickly became passionate about comics and cartoons. After finishing her art studies in 2006, she was among the twelve people lucky enough to enter Milan’s Disney Academy. She then returned to Sicily, where she worked on the animated series Winx and Pop Pixie for Rainbow. She collaborated with publisher Piemme for Geronimo Stilton and Tea Sister before creating the characters for the animated series Spike Team 2. In 2013, she worked for Disney again, creating illustrations for comics based on Tinkerbell and the Disney princesses. She has also worked with Kid Toussaint and Quattrochi on the series Magic 7 (Dupuis; Europe Comics in English).
Antonello Dalena Antonello Dalena got his start by illustrating short stories for Disney (Mickey, Donald Duck). He also drew character designs for the cartoon production society Artoonic. He then became a student of Alessandro Barbucci, illustrator of SkyDoll (Soleil), and discovered the Franco-Belgian bande dessinée. Impressed by his abilities, Barbucci entrusted him with two volumes of Monster Allergy (Tunué; Insight/Europe Comics in English). Eventually, alongside Guillaume Bianco, he illustrated his first entire series, Ernest & Rebecca (Le Lombard; Papercutz/Europe Comics in English), which won an award at Angouleme in 2013. He alternated the illustration of Ernest & Rebecca with the series Sybil, la fée cartable (Le Lombard), written by Michel Rodrigue. A young prodigy of the Italian school, Dalena is an artist who does not impose a specific stylistic identity on himself, in order to find his own graphic personality, between manga and animation. His most recent work is Hercule, agent intergalactique (Le Lombard; Hercules Intergalactic Agent, Europe Comics, 2019).
