About The Author
Takashi Okazaki
Takashi Okazaki is a Japanese manga artist, visual designer and graphic designer, most notable for writing and illustrating the manga series Afro Samurai. Takashi Okazaki graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Tama Art University. Okazaki is active in both Japan and internationally, focusing on illustration art, manga, character design, and more. From 1999, he published his manga Afro Samurai to widespread praise. An anime adaption was later released and broadcast on TV in North America and received high acclaim. The following sequel, Afro Samurai- Resurrection, was nominated for the best feature-length anime at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards. Okazaki also provided the character designs for Star Wars Visions- THE DUEL, Ninja Batman, and Sound & Fury; poster art for the manga Ghost of Tsushima; and cover art for Marvel comics among many others.
