Horrible Harry at Halloween

Suzy Kline is the author of nineteen Horrible Harry books and four books about Song Lee. She lives in Willington, Connecticut, with her husband of thirty-eight years, Rufus.

Suzy grew up in Berkeley, California, and Rufus grew up in Sacramento. They met in California at the University of California, Davis campus, where Suzy was attending for a year. Suzy had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in European history. After getting married, they lived in various places, including Canada, before settling in Connecticut.

Suzy taught for three years in 5th and 6th grades at Shannon Elementary School in Richmond, California, and for twenty-four years in 2nd and 3rd grades at Southwest Elementary School in Torrington, Connecticut, before retiring. She now writes full-time and enjoys visiting schools and libraries.

Suzy and Rufus have two daughters, Jennifer and Emily, and four grandchildren: Jake, Kenna, Gabby, and Saylor. A fifth grandchild was due in September 2006. Suzy’s mother, who recently turned 96, is the dedicatee of Suzy’s most recent book, Horrible Harry Takes the Cake.

The couple share their home with two cats, Teeter and Hoag. Suzy and Rufus enjoy attending UConn football and basketball games, and Suzy uses the UConn library for research for her writing.
