What They're Saying
Critics Review
“What defines American Style is that it is not one single voice, but a magnificent chorus -upstarts and visionaries who draw from a wide world of influence and make something entirely their own. That spirit lives on every page of this book.”
— Miles Redd, Interior Designer
“Every page of VERANDA American Style is more dazzling than the next. What an honor to be included in this beautiful book, containing so much inspiration for designers and design enthusiasts alike. Steele Marcoux and her talented team at VERANDA have done it again. Bravo!”
— Matthew Carter, Interior Designer
“Nothing says American decorating quite like “Veranda” Magazine. This book exemplifies the best of interiors throughout the country. It’s nothing short of a delightful tribute to our nation’s 250th anniversary.”
— Anthony Baratta, Interior Designer
“There is something irresistibly American about a point of view that thrives on reinvention—and VERANDA American Style captures that spirit with perfect polish and panache. Within these pages, design is not confined by a single language, but expressed with confidence and clarity across a richly varied landscape. From coast to countryside, the homes within reflect a distinct sensibility: inventive, individual, reverent of history, yet delightfully unburdened by it - what could be more all American? It is this interplay—between past and present, restraint and exuberance—that gives our American interiors their vitality. I consider this book both a celebration and a dare: an invitation to look forward, and to embrace the fresh perspective of American design.”
— Suzanne Tucker, Interior Designer
“American style is wide-ranging and hard to pinpoint, but certain characteristics come to mind: an impactful use of color, a focus on comfort and utility, honesty in materials and an overall feeling of welcome and warmth. The beautiful projects seen in American Style cover a broad range of genres and locales, and are filled with inspiring details. I’m honored to have our seaside Nantucket project featured in American Style.”
— Meg Braff, Interior Designer
“No one does “American Style” better than “Veranda,” perfectly illustrated in the new book “VERANDA American Style.” American style and All-American Homes range in styles, architecture and furnishings, but what defines Great American Style is that no matter the style of home, the home is inviting, comfortable and when it’s in Veranda, it’s beautiful. This new book is a tome of inspiration filled with amazing homes that reflect the American spirit and brings a sense of pride as we celebrate our nation’s 250 anniversary- America, the home of the brave, and the home of beauty and the home of “American Style.”
— Mark D. Sikes, Interior Designer
