Steve Barlow

Steve Barlow, as 50% of the 2Steves, has co-authored over 250 books with Steve Skidmore since their partnership began in 1988. Born in Crewe, his education included Crewe Grammar School, Warwick University, and Nottingham University. Prior to his writing career, he held diverse roles in teaching, acting, stage management, and puppetry. He also spent four years teaching in a village school in Botswana before returning to the UK. The Two Steves have conducted extensive tours across the UK and internationally, participating in book festivals such as Edinburgh and Hay.

Steve Skidmore

Steve Skidmore, alongside Steve Barlow, forms “The 2 Steves,” recognized as Britain’s most popular comedy writing and performing double act for young people. Born in Birstall, near Leicester, he pursued an English degree at Nottingham University, though he dedicated significant time to sports and various jobs, including counting pastry pie lids. He trained as a teacher of Drama, English, and Film before joining forces with Steve Barlow as a full-time author. He resides in Leicester and is an avid rugby enthusiast.
