Steve Barlow

Steve Barlow (Author)

Steve Barlow, as 50% of the 2Steves, has written over 250 books with Steve Skidmore since they first appeared in 1988. Born in Crewe, he was educated at Crewe Grammar School, Warwick University, and Nottingham University. His varied career has included teaching, acting, stage management, and puppetry. He also spent four years working in a village school in Botswana before returning to the UK. The Two Steves have toured extensively in the UK and overseas, and have presented at book festivals including Edinburgh and Hay.

Steve Skidmore (Author)

Steve Skidmore writes with Steve Barlow as Britain’s most popular comedy writing and performing double act for young people – The 2 Steves! He was born in Birstall, near Leicester. He attended Nottingham University to study English, but spent much of his time playing sport and working a variety of jobs, including counting pastry pie lids. He trained as a teacher of Drama, English, and Film before teaming up with Steve Barlow as a full-time author. He lives in Leicester and is a keen rugby fan.

Kevin Hopgood (Illustrator)

Kev Hopgood is a children’s illustrator and comic book artist. He works for a wide range of publishers in the UK, US, and Europe. His past clients include Marvel Comics, for whom he co-created the character War Machine, which appeared in the latest Iron Man movie. He has also worked in the educational and ELT field for publishers such as Oxford University Press, Barrington Stoke, and Franklin Watts.
