Steve Barlow

Steve Barlow (Author)

Steve Barlow, as one half of the duo 2Steves, has co-authored over 250 books with Steve Skidmore since their partnership began in 1988. Originally from Crewe, he received his education at Crewe Grammar School, Warwick University, and Nottingham University. His diverse career path includes experiences in teaching, acting, stage management, and puppetry. He spent four years teaching in a village school in Botswana before returning to the UK. The 2Steves have undertaken extensive tours both within the UK and internationally, participating in renowned book festivals such as Edinburgh and Hay.

Steve Skidmore (Author)

Steve Skidmore collaborates with Steve Barlow as part of Britain’s highly regarded comedy writing and performing duo for young audiences, The 2Steves. Born in Birstall, near Leicester, he pursued his English degree at Nottingham University, where he dedicated much of his time to sports and held various jobs, including one that involved counting pastry pie lids. After training as a teacher of Drama, English, and Film, he joined forces with Steve Barlow to become a full-time author. He currently resides in Leicester and is an enthusiastic rugby supporter.

Juan Calle (Illustrator)

Juan Calle is a former biologist from Bogota, Colombia, who now works as a science illustrator. He completed his training on the Science Illustration program at California State University, Monterey Bay, USA. Previously, he contributed to field guides featuring the flora and fauna of his native Colombia. Currently, he operates his own art studio, Liberum Donum, where he focuses on creating concept art, storyboards, and his personal passion, comic books.
