Steve Antony

Steve Antony is an award-winning writer and illustrator of 22 children’s books. Seven of his books have been nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal. He is best known for his ongoing Mr Panda series, which has sold over 1 million copies worldwide.

His other picture books include the award-winning modern classic The Queen’s Hat (and its three sequels), two collaborations with Tim Minchin for When I Grow Up and Sometimes You Have To Be A Little Bit Naughty, the all-new Chitty Chitty Bang Bang picture book, and You Can! - Kids Empowering Kids. He also contributed to the 70th Anniversary edition of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five: Five Have a Wonderful Time. Steve has also contributed work towards the LGBTQ+ anthologies Proud, Drawing Europe Together, and Kind.

Steve is the Swindon Libraries Patron to Children’s Reading Services, an ambassador for the National Literacy Trust, and a committee member of The Society of Authors’ Children’s Writers and Illustrators Group.

Steve is colour vision deficient, more commonly known as colour-blind. He lives in South West England with his husband and cat.
