About The Author
Stephen Briseño
Stephen Briseno is the author of La guardiana de la libreta (The Notebook Keeper), which received an Author Pura Belpré Honor. He has taught high school English for 15 years and writes, reads, and drinks plenty of coffee with his wife and daughter in San Antonio, TX.
Sonia Sanchez paints with traditional and digital brushes, using layers of texture in her work to evoke emotion and movement. Her debut picture book, Here I Am, received starred reviews and was nominated for an Eisner Award. She is also the illustrator of Evelyn Del Rey se muda (Evelyn Del Rey is Moving Away) by Meg Medina. Sonia’s art has been selected three times for the prestigious Society of Illustrators Original Art exhibition. She lives with her husband, son, and a sleepy cat in a blue house near the Mediterranean Sea.
