Advance Praise for The Scientific Mindset:
“These days it’s hard to know where to look for good advice when making a decision in work or life. Stefan Thomke shows us how to look within ourselves with calm confidence and real expertise. Read The Scientific Mindset and watch your decisions improve.” — Arthur C. Brooks, #1 New York Times bestselling author, The Meaning of Your Life
“Leadership books often celebrate confidence. The Scientific Mindset makes a more provocative case: that the best leaders are willing to test their own assumptions and risk being proven wrong. Stefan Thomke offers a clear, practical road map for leaders who want to replace overconfidence and ‘gut feeling’ with disciplined learning and evidence.” — Amy C. Edmondson, Professor, Harvard Business School; author, Right Kind of Wrong
“In our dynamic world, leadership is no longer about trusting your gut—it’s about testing your gut. Stefan Thomke is a renowned expert on applying the scientific method to business, and this book will teach you how to turn your strategies into hypotheses, your decisions into experiments, and your curiosity into a competitive advantage. It’s an engaging, actionable guide to building a learning organization.” — Adam Grant, #1 New York Times bestselling author, Think Again; podcast host, Re:Thinking

Blending science with business, this engaging book is a strong pick for anyone who wants to challenge assumptions and lead with greater confidence.” — Tom Mihaljevic, MD, CEO and President, Cleveland Clinic
“Stefan Thomke offers leaders a discipline they urgently need: the ability to turn hunches into hypotheses and opinions into experiments. The Scientific Mindset shows how to challenge assumptions, demand evidence, and build organizations where being wrong is not a failure but the fastest path to getting it right.” — Daniel H. Pink, #1 New York Times bestselling author, The Power of Regret and Drive
“The Scientific Mindset is a remarkable book: elegant in its simplicity and vital in its ambition. Thinking scientifically, at its heart, is a habit of humility—the courage to question, test, and ultimately transform what we think we know. Stefan Thomke’s profound insight is that this courage, practiced daily, doesn’t just make us better leaders. It makes us wiser, more honest, more human.” — Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group
“Most business books focus on ‘what’ you should do; The Scientific Mindset focuses on ‘how’ to navigate uncertainty and make better decisions. At a time when AI generates endless output and accelerates the pace of change, Stefan Thomke reminds us that adopting a scientific mindset is the best compass for leaders. He challenges us to be knowledgeable skeptics, test our assumptions, and embrace optimism—capabilities that are uniquely human and create outsized results. The perfect message at the right time.” — Alex Atzberger, CEO, Optimizely
